Service Areas
Adult Education—A very vital part of the Church of Christ at Whispering Hills is our education program. We offer classes for all ages including nursery, children, teen, new converts, adults and ladies classes. Mike Snider, one of our elders, works with adult education. Daniel Hodges , deacon, leads our children education ministry.
Audio Visual—The A/V ministry is involved in operating our sound and video equipment. Volunteers in this ministry record sermons, set up sound systems for individual classrooms and support adult teachers by setting up video equipment. Greg Snider and Vernon Guess are the deacon who leads this ministry.
Benevolence—The benevolence ministry works to help individuals and families both inside and outside of the church who have special needs. Bob Stover is the deacon over this ministry.
Brother’s Keeper’s—The brother’s keeper’s ministry is a ministry to help strengthen and get to know each other to a greater extent. Brother’s Keepers groups, are groups that have been placed together to help in the smaller needs of the people in those groups. Steve Parrott is the deacon over this ministry.
Building—The building upkeep ministry is comprised of members who participate in building maintenance and repair. Eddie Bates is the deacon in charge of this ministry.
Communications—The communications ministry is an area we are expanding here at Whispering Hills. The main ministry involves 1) greeters who greet members and visitors as they enter the building for Bible class and worship; 2) volunteers who assist with creative tasks such as art work, bulletin boards, and newspaper advertising; 3) assist with other computer works not mentioned on this page including data processing; 4) update and upkeep of the church web site. Clif Dreiling is the deacon in charge of the Communication part of this ministry. Vernon Guess is the deacon in charge of the web site part of this ministry.
Evangelism and Missions—Evangelism is the ultimate goal of the Church of Christ at Whispering Hills. This ministry involves sending out welcome letters, making phone calls, making home visits, working on campaigns, and teaching "one on one" Bible Studies. Included in this ministry is the mission ministry participates in such things as correspondence with missionary families; promotion of TV series such as Search and In Search of the Lord’s Way; involvement in World Bible School and assistance with campaigns. Our Elders lead this ministry.
Fellowship—Coordinates the monthly fellowships, stocks the kitchen with supplies for this and other all-church events throughout the year. David Foster, is the deacon that takes the lead of this ministry
Finance—this ministry provides information to help Whispering Hills prepare for finance and facility needs. To keep records of contributions, special project funds and the distribution of monies needed to keep the church operating. Lawrence Buckner and Steve Parrott are the deacons working together on this ministry.
Property—The grounds around our building are kept by volunteer help. Volunteers are needed to assist with mowing, trimming, landscaping, watering and any other upkeep that is needed. David Sampson is the deacon in charge of this area of services
Security—In this ministry, volunteers are used to lock and unlock the building. This is a very important work not only for security reasons, but also for financial savings as it involves the turning on and off of our heating and air conditioning systems. Bob Stover is our deacon who leads this ministry effort.
Visitations—Whispering Hills members are often confined because of age or illness and need special care. This ministry is a serving ministry designed to meet these special needs. Also included in this work is keeping track of attendance of each member and visitor. With the follow up any information we have on our visitors. Dale Graham, our minister, in charge of this ministry effort. David Foster is our deacon who leads the attendance taking.
Worship—In this ministry, men are assigned to lead in our worship services. Men are assigned to lead singing, lead prayers, serve communion, take communion to nursing homes, and read scripture. This ministry also involves utilizing volunteers to prepare communion trays, clean communion trays and prepare communion bread. Bob Stover is our deacon in charge of this ministry.
Youth Activities (6th – 12th)—Our young people are a vital part of the family here. In this ministry volunteers assist with activities for our young people including; mentoring young people in leadership training; serving as sponsors on youth activities and hosting youth devotionals for our older group. Vernon Guess, is our deacon in this ministry effort.
